NYC Bus Times (nycbustimes.com) shows live NYC bus times. We don't have accounts, and we collect as little as we can. This page explains what happens to your information when you use the site.

Your location

If you allow it, your browser shares your location so we can show the bus stops near you. Your phone or browser asks first, and you can turn it off at any time in its settings. Your location is sent to our server only to look up nearby stops from MTA Bus Time. We don't save it or connect it to you, though our hosting provider's short-lived request logs can include it.

Saved routes, stops and settings

Routes and stops you save, your theme, and similar settings are stored in your browser on your device (local storage). They aren't sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense to keep the site free.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify individual visitors.

Services that load in your browser

To show the site, your browser connects to a few other services, which see your IP address like any website you visit: Vercel (hosting), CARTO and OpenStreetMap (map tiles), Google Fonts (text font) and Google AdSense (ads). Live bus data comes from MTA Bus Time through our server, so your browser doesn't connect to the MTA directly.

Children

The site is meant for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13.
